Beginning with the 2020-21 school year our JH athletic programs will be joining the Desert Middle Schools league for competition. Some of our smaller programs will remain in the CAA. The Arizona Interscholastic Association has announced their start dates for fall sports. Based on information from surveys of member schools, executive board and committee meetings the AIA has agreed to phase in sports this fall. The Girls summer volleyball program will get underway on Monday, June 1st. Like all of the athletic programs at ALA, volleyball will be phased in slowly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Phase 1 began on June 1st. We will have grades 7-9 meeting on the track at 5am for conditioning. Grades 10-12 will begin at 6am.

For the second year in a row, our 8th grade girls volleyball team won the CAA Spike It tournament held at ALA Gilbert. Our girls went through the tournament 5-0 to remain unbeaten on the season. They defeated previously unbeaten ASU Prep in the semi finals and perennial power Paradise Honors in the championship match.
