Varsity Volleyball sweeps Yuma Catholic in home opener

American Leadership Academy Gilbert North girls varsity volleyball opened up its 2020 season with a sweep of all three levels at home versus Yuma Catholic. JVB opened up the action with a 25-4, 25-11 win. JVB followed that up with a 25-10, 25-14 victory. Varsity finished the clean sweep with scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-15.   ALA

AIA announces start dates for fall sport

The Arizona Interscholastic Association has announced their start dates for fall sports. Based on information from surveys of member schools, executive board and committee meetings the AIA has agreed to phase in sports this fall. Bogle commits to Utah

Junior volleyball standout Brooklin Bogle has committed to the University of Utah for beach volleyball. Brooklin plays both indoor and beach volleyball at ALA Gilbert. Bogle also plays beach for Volley4life.

Athletic Clearance – August 17th

Parents, All athletes should be cleared on Register My Athlete before August 17th. If they are not cleared they will not be allowed to attend tryouts for their respective sports. Summer Volleyball begins June 1.

The Girls summer volleyball program will get underway on Monday, June 1st. Like all of the athletic programs at ALA, volleyball will be phased in slowly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Phase 1 began on June 1st. We will have grades 7-9 meeting on the track at 5am for conditioning. Grades 10-12 will begin at 6am.

Varsity Volleyball second at “Spiketown” tourney

ALA GN Varsity Volleyball pushed eventual champion Snowflake to the brink, but came up short losing in the championship match 25-13, 15-25, 15-13.  ALA Gilbert finished second in their pool posting wins over 5A Higley and Pima. They then got redemption in the Gold bracket semifinals, defeating Blue Ridge who they had lost to at home
