base, Boys Varsity Baseball · Varsity Baseball off to blistering start

Varsity Baseball is off to an impressive 8-0 start, outscoring their opponents 82-8 over that stretch. Our Eagles are using a mix of veteran leadership and youthful exuberance to get the job done.

Eagle Baseball took a trip to Southern Utah and captured the Crimson Cliffs Classic winning 4 straight games and doing some important team bonding along the way.

Varsity coach Brett Brewer cites his pitching staff as critical in the team’s success to this point. Sophomore Dawson Morris is sporting a 0.00 ERA with 12 K’s and two wins. Senior Jake McAleavy has 21 strikeouts and 3 wins with a 2.05 ERA. He is also getting it done at the plate with a home run and 9 RBI’s. Sr. Braden Pierce also has two wins with 13 strikeouts and a 2.10 ERA. Pierce and teammate Easton Webster also lead the East Valley region with 11 stolen bases apiece.

Not to be outdone, the freshman are contributing in a big way also. Luke Lentz has two home runs in only 9 at bats.  Fellow frosh Crew Gunnell has 10 RBI’s to add to the Eagles attack.

The Eagles are back in action on Monday, March 16th at 3:45 at ALA Queen Creek. This is a rescheduled game from March 12th that was rained out.
