Girls Junior High Softball · ALA Gilbert North Eagles Falls to Legacy Traditional Surprise After Fourth Inning Score


ALA Eagles stayed in it until the end, but Legacy Traditional Surprise pulled away late in a 7-6 victory on Tuesday.  The game was tied at six with Legacy Traditional Surprise batting in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run for Legacy Traditional Surprise.

ALA Eagles lost despite out-hitting Legacy Traditional Surprise nine to four.

The Eagles got things moving in the first inning.  Aja H drove in one when she doubled.

ALA  Eagles notched four runs in the third inning.

R B was the winning pitcher for Legacy Traditional Surprise. They went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one.

Tayler M allowed one hit and two runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.

Legacy Traditional Surprise allowed seven hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out seven. Danica T started the game for ALA  Eagles pitching two and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out two

ALA  Eagles racked up nine hits on the day.  Aja and Tayler all managed multiple hits for the Eagles.  Aja led ALA Eagles with three hits in four at bats.

Lady Eagles will defend the state title Saturday, February 15th at the CAA tournament at Papago Park.
